Akhiok Airport – AKK Akhiok
Akhiok Airport is owned by the government and situated in Akhiok, Alaska. The airfield is 2 km southwest of the main city. The city is a second class town and the airport with code AKK is the only airport serving the area. The rural city has less than 500 people living in it. The village is also called Alitak. Aside from the airport, the city is also accessible via water. The main airline that has flights is the Island Air Service. Aside from regular passenger flights, the airport also caters to chartered flights. The gravel runway is 1010m by 18m.

The Akhiok Airport is also the base of seaplanes traveling to and from the area. According to the records, the airport only catered to less than 2500 planes which fall short to have a commercial service category. Up to date, it is only classified as general aviation airfield. Scheduled passenger flights are subsized by the government. In 2010, the Service Air provides free flights to the area. Alitak is one of the towns that surround the airport.

The closest is the Deadman Bay Cabin is near Kodiak Natural Wildlife Refuge. The cabins have simple amenities perfect for overnight. The lodging is surrounded by trails and hunting grounds.
