Cordoba is officially known as Heroica Cordoba was founded around 1618. It is under the Veracruz de Ignacio de la Llave State of Mexico. It has an area of 226 km sq. with a population of 218,153 as of 2010. Historically, the village was founded by the Spanish to protect from Gaspar Yanga’s Slave rebellion.
Best Time to Visit
The ideal month to visit Cordoba is in May and October. These months are warm in the morning and cool at night. The Cordoba’s Festivals are also celebrated during these months thus, a lot of tourist visits. It is also commendable to visit during the fall season, which is in October. The weather is cool and has lesser visitors. The City’s gateway is through the Tehuacán Airport (TCN) in Tehuacán, Puebla, Mexico. You can visit Pico de Orizaba National Park through trekking. It is an 18,491 feet stratovolcano and is considered to be the highest mountain in Mexico and the third highest in North America. It is considered to be a dormant volcano and was last recorded to erupt during the 19th Century. You can also explore the Museo de Antropologia in Cordoba. It collects, preserved, and exhibits artifacts about Cordoba’s culture – human and society, history and contemporary. The museum’s main purpose is to educate tourists to learn and respect other cultures to enhance cultural sensitivity.
