The Romantik Hotel has been a household name in high-end guest house accommodations. The hotel chain has 200 branches spread 10 European countries. Despite the recorded 40-year operations of the management, its roots can actually be traced way back in the past centuries. The surname disappeared in 1787 when Theresia Elixhauser married the restaurateur Johann Georg Gmachl.
