The Cornwall Airport Newquay is an airport in England. It is the main commercial airport of Cornwall. Located in St. Mawgan in Pydar, northeast of the town of Newquay, the airport serves Cornwall, England and the nearby towns. The Cornwall Airport Newquay, whose airport code is NQY, started its first use as a civilian facility in 1933 but became military base during the outbreak of World War II. It served as a support to other bases in the Cornwall area and was named Royal Air Force Treberzue. The airport had been operated partly as a civilian facility before 2009 but became fully civilian during that same year when RAF St. Mawgan cease to operate in the airport.

NQY-Cornwall Airport Newquay was expanded after the war and was renamed RAF St. Mawgan. It was then turned over to USAAF. Additional expansion had occurred which include the building of a new control tower and the runway. In 1947, the airport underwent maintenance and reopened in 1951 as Coastal Command base. Since then it operated mostly as a military facility. But in 2009, all based military operations were detached from the airport. As of 2017, the airport accommodates no less than 461,300 passengers. You can easily drive to the famous beaches of the town of Falmouth, or the small village of Porth Navas from the airport.
