It was designed by the legendary architect Louis Sullivan with his team at Adler & Sullivan. They constructed the St. Louis Union Trust Company and continued to make more projects. Sullivan has even gained the label of being the creator of the modern skyscraper. Now since that project had been vacant since 2013, The Union Trust Company Building purchased it in 2015. The restoration was led by Amy and Amrit Gill. The multi-million dollar renovation of the hotel prompted for a new name which is now the Saint-Louis Hotel. The Marriott Autograph Collection operates the historical building among other branches under the brand.

The Saint-Louis Hotels is a tribute to the original founder of the iconic building.
