Among the significant upgrades from the rehabilitation of the Suai Airport are its new 1,500-meter runway, terminal building, control tower, fire station, meteorological station, and a helipad equipped with Medivac air ambulance facilities. This major infrastructure undertaking is intended to promote increased national connectivity and support national development. It is part of the government’s commitment to further growth throughout the Timor-Leste region. What to Do & Area Attractions
Many of Suai’s hotels and guest lodgings are located on the new road that links the airport to the borders. One of the more popular in close proximity to Suai Airport is the Eastern Dragon Hotel about 2.4 miles away, with newly-renovated rooms, a supermarket, and a Chinese restaurant. There’s also the Hotel Suai, about a hundred meters from Eastern Dragon, which offers more basic facilities than its more modern neighbor.
