About Dream Hotels & Resorts Umzimkhulu

Dream Hotels & Resorts was born in 1991 and was the ultimate family dream. The founders are one family, and until now they haven’t let go of their family ownership despite their prominence in the industry that could easily get them acquired by a big hotel operator. It was originally founded by Weston Dickson and Diane Gordon as Leisure Options in 1988, but the business later expanded, incorporating the Dream Vacation Club, yet another seed for the now Dream Hotels & Resorts. Weston has always believed in their strategic South Africa location. He says that there is so much to offer in the area from culture to potential in hospitality. He personally loves traveling but has always found himself in South Africa, hence the idea of the hotel. His passion for the wildlife and outdoors played a big part in landscaping their hotel plan.

Diane Gordon’s passion is meeting new people; hence she focused on integrating communications, interactions, and smooth transactions between clients and the hotel. While Weston is into South Africa, Diane is more into the Hamilton Island, Australia. Still, she calls South Africa with Weston as they have both grown into loving the diversity, natural beauty, and community values of the region.
