Surat Thani International Airport – URT
The Surat Thani International Airport is one of the six international airports and the tenth-busiestairport in Thailand. It is located in Phunphin District, Surat Thani Province, Thailand and serves Surat Thani City and nearby towns. The Surat Thani International Airport, whose airport code is URT, is both civil and military facility. The Royal Thai Airforce squadron is based in the airport. During this time, it can handle more than two million passengers every year.

URT-Surat Thani International Airport is a public type airport. Despite from this, it also operates as a military facility being based by RTAF, 7th Wing Air Combat Command. It has one runway with asphalt as its surface. It is owned and operated by Royal Thai Air force. There are 9 airlines operated before in the airport but the two were already terminated. These airlines transport passengers to nine Asia destinations with Hangzhou that will end in October 2019 including one charter service. The new facilities were finally operational in 1997. As of 2018, the airport accommodates 2,108,289 passengers but the Department of Transport announced an upgrading scheme to accommodate three million passengers a year. The airport is near to Ban Na San and Ban Ta Khun, districts of Surat Thani Province which have many attractions.
