Angoon Seaplane Base – AGN
Known by the IATA code of AGN, Angoon Seaplane Base is a public state-owned airport that serves the city of Angoon, Alaska, on Admiralty Island. It can be found about two kilometers from the southeastern side of Angoon’s central business district. The Essential Air Service program subsidizes the scheduled airline service offered in the seaplane base.

Since the seaplane base accommodates only over 1,700 aircraft operations yearly, it falls under the category of general aviation airport. Angoon Seaplane Base also handles more than 3,300 passengers and 142,000 lbs of freight. Its water runway runs to 10,000 feet and measures 900 feet in width. There is only one airline currently using AGN, the Alaska Seaplane Service, which connects the airport to Juneau, another city in Alaska. Two other seaplane bases available in the state are Tenakee Seaplane Base serving the town of Tenakee Springs on Chichagof Island and Elfin Cove Seaplane Base serving Elfin Cove on Chichagof Island as well. Both airports are considered as general aviation facilities due to their small number of enplanements in the past years.
