Amahai Airport – AHI
Amahai Airport, or most locally known as Bandar Udara Amahai, is one of the airfields located in the town of Amahai, Indonesia. Specifically, the airport is on the southern part of Seram Island, east of the Bay of Elpaputih, and just about a 12-minute drive north to the city of Masohi. Amahai Airport is assigned the IATA airport code of AHI and ICAO code of WAPA. It primarily serves the town of Amahai and its neighboring cities, as well.
Best Time to Visit
The airport is at an elevation of nine meters above the mean sea level and has only one runway, which is more than 2,700 meters in length. The 22-meter wide track has a coral penetration type of surface and can only accommodate small aircraft. You can reach the airport from anywhere in Seram via special bus, train express, or taxis. Seram Island is a perfect summer getaway, so if you’re coming in from Amahai Airport, make sure to drop by the beaches and sites at Amahai.
