Chorges: Where There Is More Water and Less Ice
Situated on the Southern Alps under the Hautes-Alpes department is the ancient Roman-influenced town of Chorges, France. Chorges prevails with a continental climate. It is warm and dry half of the year while cool and wet during the other half. Despite being close to the Alps, rain is experienced more often than snow. To fully appreciate the beauty of the town, it is most recommended to visit between June and August when it is summer season. However, if you wish to avoid the high traffic of tourists and pricey rates of Chorges hotels, it is also ideal to visit earlier – between March and May.
