However, passenger services will be canceled on December 4-6, 2019 due to the closing of the airport’s runway. The Cooktown Shire Council is closing down the airport for runway works. Normal services from Cairns to Cooktown under the airlines will resume on December 7, 2019. Nearby towns that benefit from the air services in CTN include Hope Vale, Rossville, and even Lakeland.
