Formally known as Rome–Fiumicino International Airport "Leonardo da Vinci," Fiumicino-Leonardo da Vinci International Airport is a public airport operated by Aeroporti di Roma. This international airport is found in the town of Fiumicino in Rome, Italy, and primarily serves the city of Rome. On top of this, FCO- Fiumicino-Leonardo da Vinci International Airport is considered the major entry via air to Italy and ranks as eight among the busiest airports in all of Europe. The airport was actually named in honor of the famous Leonardo da Vinci.

Serving almost 43 million passengers, Fiumicino-Leonardo da Vinci International Airport is also the central hub of the airlines of Alitalia and Vueling. It was opened way back in January 1961 as a replacement for Rome Ciampino Airport. Before its official opening, FCO had been used in August 1960 to accommodate the increase in passengers during the Summer Olympics that year.
