Ford Center for the Performing Arts Oriental Theatre is also known as "The Oriental Theatre," renamed "The Nederlander Theatre" just recently in 2019. The theatre was named after James M. Nederlander, the founder of Broadway In Chicago. The theatres opened to the public in 1926. It was listed as the New Masonic Building and Oriental Theatre on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. The theatre can seat 2,253 hosting Broadway shows.
