Khajuraho Airport – HJR Airport
Khajuraho Airport is located in Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh, India. It is highly accessible, being only 2.5 miles from the Khajuraho Railway Station and 1.86 miles from the town of Khajuraho. The airport is operated by the Airports Authority of India and was just newly inaugurated in January of 2016 for the completion of its new terminal.

The HJR Airport sits on land measuring 590 acres. It first opened in 1978 to address the tourism to the Khajuraho Group of Monuments, considered a UNESCO world heritage site. In 2013, the government started construction of a new airport terminal costing US$13 million. The building was completed on January 2016 and was inaugurated with state and union government officials in attendance. The airport features one runway with an asphalt surface measuring 2,274 feet long. Air India and Vistara offer passenger service with the latter beginning operation on November 5, 2019. Residents in nearby cities such as Banda, Satna, and even Panna, benefit from the newly renovated Khajuraho Airport.
