Frank País Airport - HOG- Frank Pais
Frank País Airport is a military and public airport located in Holguin, Cuba. Operated by ECASA, one of the leading airport operators in Cuba, HOG serves nearby towns and municipalities in Holguin Province. The airport was named after one of the revolutionary leaders of Cuba, Frank Pais. The HOG Airport started operating as a civil air airport in 1966. At present the airport serves both domestic and international flights to the United States and Europe.
Best Time to Visit
There are two terminals available in Frank Pais Airport. One serves domestic flights and the second one built in 1996 and expanded in 2007 serves international flights from the airport. The international terminal can handle a maximum of 1,200 passengers per hour and features several restaurants, duty free shops and car rental agencies. A VIP lounge is also available in the area. A single runway operates in the airport equipped with an instrument landing system. Seasonal flights to Halifax, Ottawa, Winnipeg and Toronto-Pearson are served in the HOG Airport. Holguin in eastern Cuba features several scenic views you can visit while in the area. Cathedrals and a large collection of plant specimens and stuffed birds and animals can be also enjoyed in the region.
