The City of Eugene has a lot to offer because it's nearer to places with natural and man made tourist attractions, like in Villard. Villard boasts their infamous Matthew Knight Arena, a multi-functional arena that is housed by the University of Oregon Ducks basketball team. Just outside of both arenas is the Alton Baker Park that features duck ponds, Dog Park, disc golf course, and bicycle trails. Across the park is the Willamette River, a major affluent of the River of Colombia. This river is rich with black cottonwood, willow, and big leaf maple floras and more than 30 native fauna species. For a 4-star rated hotel with high-quality services, La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Eugene is the best place to go, which provides a scheduled free airport shuttle, restaurant and a wellness center. The Super 8 by Wyndham Springfield/Eugene in Springfield, a neighboring city, is also a great choice.
