Napuka Airport - NAU
The breathtaking Napuka Atoll in the Disappointment Islands in the northeastern section of the Tuamotu Archipelago in French Polynesia is home to the Napuka Airport, with an airport code of NAU, which lies adjacent to the Tepukamaruia village. It is operated by DSEAC Polynésie française.
Best Time to Visit
The NAU-Napuka Airport serves Tepukamaruia, Napuka, Tuamotus, and French Polynesia with its 900-meter runway. The airport was completed in 1977 and serves over 1,300 passengers annually. As gorgeous as the atoll is, travelers will be hard-pressed to find hotels and accommodations in the area, as it is it one of the most remote parts of French Polynesia.
What to Do & Area Attractions
Guests who are heading to Napuka Airport will have the option to check in at gorgeous hotel accommodations. The Anaa Toku Kaiga located on the Anaa Atoll, or the highly rated Raimiti on the Fakarava Atoll, are the prime choices. Yan also opt to stay at the Vaiama Village, Havaiki Pearl Lodge, Nuku Hiva Keikahahui Pearl Lodge, and Relais Marama.
Because French Polynesia is composed of several strings of islands and atolls, Napuka Airport (NAU) is a neighbor to a number of airports located in each nearby island or atoll. These include the Takume Airport (TJN), Raroia Airport (RRR), Makemo Airport (MKP), Faaite Airport (FAC), Kaukura Airport (KKR), Niau Airport (NIU), and Tikehau Airport (TIH). French Polynesia is also home to the Fa'a'ā International Airport (PPT), which serves over 1.2 million passengers annually, while the Mo'orea island has its Aéroport de Moorea Temae domestic airport.
