Sitting on 3,000 acres (1,214 hectares) of land is the joint civil-military Portland International Airport. It is the largest airport in Oregon, accounting for 90% of the state’s passenger air travel as well as 95% of its air cargo. Located 9 miles (14.5 kilometers) northeast of downtown Portland, Oregon, the airport has been named best airport in the U.S. in Travel + Leisure’s readers’ poll from 2013-2019.

PDX has one passenger terminal split into North and South, with five concourses distributed between them. Concourses A, B, and C are in the South Terminal, while D and E are in the North. There are 14 gates in Concourse A, four in B, 23 in C, 15 in D, and four in E for a total of 60. Portland International Airport is currently served by 18 international airlines with Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air its largest passenger carriers. It offers over 500 scheduled passenger departures and arrivals daily, with nonstop flights available from over 60 U.S. and international cities. Sherwood, Oregon City, Portland, and Gresham are all within 20 minutes from PDX-Portland International Airport.
