Supadio International Airport
Supadio International Airport is a public and military airport owned by the Government of Indonesia. It is located in Pontianak, Indonesia and serves the areas of Kubu Raya Regency and West Kalimantan. Operated by PT Angkasa Pura II. The airport serves as the current hub of the NAM Air Airlines and also caters flights for Lion Air, Sriwijaya Air and Xpress Air. It is the main gateway to West Kalimantan and serves domestic flights to and from the cities and towns in Indonesia as well as areas in Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur and Kuching.
Best Time to Visit
PNK Supadio Airport was originally dedicated as Sei Durian Airport and built in the 1940s. The 1970s marked the first international flight launches from the airport to Kuching from Sarawak. It later changed its name to Supadio Airport in the 1980s. At present, there are 10 airlines operating in the airport, AirAsia, Batik Air, Citilink, Indonesia AirAsia, Garuda Indonesia, Lion Air, Nam Air, Wings Air, XpressAir and Sriwijaya Air. Pontianak, the capital city near the airport offers a great escape where you can enjoy waterfront parks, history, architecture and the culture of the region.
