Operated by the Gobiernodel Estado, Querétaro Intercontinental Airport is an international airport, which goes by the IATA code QRO. While the airfield is found in the municipalities of El Marqués and Colón, it actually serves the city of Querétaro, Querétaro, Mexico. It also acts as the alternate airport for Mexico City International Airport and hosts the headquarters of TAR Airlines. Querétaro Intercontinental Airport became the substitute airport for Ing. Fernando Espinoza Gutiérrez International Airport, which was in Querétaro but ceased operations in 2004.
