Rajahmundry Airport is a public-use airport situated in the city o Rajahmundry also called Rajamahendravaram, the cultural center of Andhra Pradesh in India. In 2007, the Airports Aviation of India (AAI) granted additional funds for the modernization of the airport. A new terminal passenger building has been constructed with control tower and the runway was lengthened allowing bigger aircraft landings. The airport has a single asphalt runway measuring 3,125 meters long. As of March 2019, the airport has boarded over 440,000 passengers with a total of nearly 8,600 aircraft operations. Rajahmundry Airport air traffic operations are being handled by Indigo and TruJet to destinations that include Bengalaru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam.
