Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport is a public airport that serves and is located just 10 minutes from downtown Louisville, Kentucky. It was originally named Standiford Field, which is where the airport code SDF is derived from. The name change was voted on by the Regional Airport Authority in 2019, and is in honor of one of Louisville’s pride, the legendary boxing champion Muhammad Ali. Covering a land area of 1,500 acres, it features 3 runways, and a passenger terminal with 24 boarding gates. This international airport is also the base of UPS’ worldwide hub, Worldport.
