Shillong previously so called Yeddo or Lewduh is the capital of Meghalaya state, north-east of India. Shillong, India is situated in the central east of Shillong Plateau. It is the center of the east of Khasi Hills district. They say that the rolling hills and the landscape of the city is a resemblance of Scotland and this is why Shillong is termed the Scotland of the East.
