It is based in Wichita County, Texas, and has a joint agreement with neighboring airport Wichita Falls Municipal Airport to share both runways and taxiways. Sheppard Air Force Base, airport code SPS, has four runways. It is currently the largest base for the Air Education and Training Command, with two major units that specialize in the elite field and combat aviation training.
