Tinghir: City In Between Nature and Culture
Tinghir, Morocco has the most beautiful oases in southern Morocco, which makes it a tourist favorite when visiting the country. It is the administrative center of the region and is southwest of the old Jewish quarter, Elhait Ait Ali. Its buildings and infrastructures form an interesting blend of different cultures due to its cultural location. It is also surrounded by breathtaking natural feats that gave way to healthy villages and living. Some villages live next to water canals allowing villagers to grow healthy vegetables, fruits, and other produce. It also houses Africa's largest silver mine, "Imadhar mine".
Best Time to Visit
Summer and winter seasons are the peak of tourism in the area, as well as the weather. To enjoy fair weather, neither too hot nor too cold, April and May or September to November are great months to visit. Also, these months have lower Tinghir hotel rates.
What to Do & Area Attractions
Being in Tinghir allows tourists and visitors, especially adventurers to enjoy intense exploration. The Todra Gorge is one of the most famous sites in Tinghir. It is a 525-feet gorge or canyon on the east side of the High Atlas Mountains. Visiting the site offers hiking and rock climbing experiences. After the hike, the Resistance Plaza is a great place to relax and take a breathe in. Another area near the gorge is the Tinghir Park. For convenient accommodations that offer easy access to the attractions, Kasbah Tabohrite, Maison D’Hotes Retour Au Calme, and Riad Amodou are great choices for affordable but comfortable services.
