Tsumeb: Gateway to the North
Tsumeb, Namibia is the biggest city in Oshikoto. It used to be the site of a deep mine. Its name is believed to have come from a Nama word that means either “place of the moss” or “place of the frog”. Founded in 1905, it is often referred to as the country’s “gateway to the north”.
