Yichun – The Forest Capital of China
Yichun, China is located in the Heilongjiang province and is the sixth largest city in the province. What is unique about Yichun is that the city sits in a vast forest inside Xiaoxinganling hills, making the city have the highest forest coverage rate in all of China. Because of this, the city is nicknamed Lindu, which literally translates to “forest capital”. The city also has the largest Korean Pine forest in the whole of Asia that is also best protected among other countries. The city sits across Russia, separated by the Amur River and an international border that measures 153 miles. Many of the attractions in the city are centered around the lush forest.
