Watson Lake Airport – YQH Yukon

Watson Lake Airport or YQH airport code is situated 5.8 miles west of Watson Lake, Yukon, Canada and is managed by the Yukon government. The Watson Lake Airport was made as a private facility in 1935 and regular passenger service was implemented by Canadian Pacific Air Lines and its substitutes and in the mid 1990s passenger service was also available from regional and commuter airlines namely Central Mountain Air and Alkan Air. There are no commercial flights from Watson Lake Airport.

The YQH-Watson Lake Airport has a runway with an asphalt surface of about 5,500 ft. The Watson Lake Air Terminal inside the airport which was developed in 1941 is an important connection in the Northwest Staging Route and the building of Alaska Highway. Tower was also constructed in 1942 along with a small building that has been upgraded. Some of the best places to go to from the airport are Whitehorse, Fort Nelson, Rainbow Lake and Fort Simpson.
