The Aljira - A Center for Contemporary Art is a contemporary art museum and exhibition located in Newark, New Jersey. This museum was designated by the New Jersey State Council for the Arts as a Major Arts Organization for its large contribution towards art. The center was founded in 1983 and 10 years later, it was chosen to become the US Representative for IV Biennial International Painting.
