The airport then, had undergone a lot of name changes, from Northwest Chicagoland Regional Airport at Rockford in early 2000 and then renaming it again to the Chicago/Rockford International Airport. The slash was later on erased in the year 2007 to what is now known as the Chicago Rockford International Airport. The Rockford airport is marketed not only to residents of Rockford but also surrounding areas such as Willow Springs, Southmoor, and Riverwoods. RFD uses low fares for their marketing.
