Newark Liberty International Airport – EWR Newark
Newark Liberty International Airport was previously known as Newark Metropolitan Airport then Newark International Airport. The international airport is located between Newark and Elizabeth, in which it is also owned by the same cities. Its operation is under the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. After the 9/11 Attack where the aircraft from Newark was in transit to New Jersey was hijacked, the airport’s name was changed to Newark Liberty International Airport, to pay tribute to the victims and the Statue of Liberty. Newark Liberty International Airport has a land area of 820 hectares with three runways and one helipad. It uses a uniform, signage throughout the airport properties: yellow to airline gates, ticketing and other flight services, green to ground transportations and black to the restrooms, telephones and other passenger amenities. Top destinations for the airport are Orlando, San Francisco, Fort Lauderdale, Los Angeles and Atlanta. Among its international routes, London, Tel Aviv-Ben Gurion, Toronto (Pearson), Toronto (Billy Bishop) and Cancun are the busiest. In 2018, it has served 46 million passengers. It is near Jersey City and New York.

Newark Liberty International Airport Marriott is the only hotel located within the airport complex. Although it is inside, it has no official walking routes instead it offers shuttle vans. Hampton Inn Newark Airport is in close proximity to the airport and Holiday Inn Newark Airport. Both hotels offer airport transfers.
Teteboro Airport and LaGuardia Airport are among the closest airports in Newark.
